Shift Hours:

• Day: 6:30am - 3:00pm
• Evening: 2:30pm - 11:00pm
• Nights: 10:30pm - 7:00am

This position ensures quality care through staff monitoring, physician contact, care planning, and resident observation. It also provides direct care to residents, following nursing standards, procedures, and regulations.

In this role, the Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse will:

• Assist in supervising nursing assistants, ensuring high standards of care.
• Help orient new staff and reinforce training standards.
• Explain nursing procedures and support staff training.
• Communicate regularly with the Nurse Manager or Director of Nursing about observations and concerns.
• Assess residents’ health and communicate significant changes to appropriate staff and families, and notify physicians as needed.
• Provide direct patient care including procedures like catheter care, colostomy care, suctioning, dressings, and naso-gastric tubes.
• Participate in shift reports to ensure proper resident information transfer.
• Assist with admission, orientation, and observation of new residents, ensuring physician orders are transcribed and communicated properly.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Graduation from an approved LPN/LVN program.
• Current, in-good-standing license as an LPN/LVN in the state.
• One year of nursing experience.
• Commitment to professional nursing standards and principles.
