HCA Healthcare in North Carolina is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide clinical expertise and ensure high-quality patient care. The position is full-time, with a day shift, and no nights, weekends, or holidays.

The role involves managing patient flow, preparing for exams, instructing patients on samples and medications, and maintaining accurate health records. At least 2 years' hospital/clinic experience and an active LPN license are preferred and required by state regulations.

Qualifications

• A degree from an accredited school of practical nursing is required.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a hospital or clinic setting is preferred.
• Must be licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse following state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Manage efficient flow of patients, including screening, prep for exams, collecting samples/tests, and obtaining vitals.
• Notify patients of test results and follow-up appointments; instruct on medications and treatment instructions.
• Maintain patient records, including chart entries and posting lab/test results.
• Schedule tests and treatments; arrange referrals and obtain pre-authorizations as directed.
• Assist provider with physical exams and be prepared for physicals.
• Order prescriptions with the pharmacy and notify patients.
• Control inventory and monitor supplies.
• Record health history and note abnormal conditions for physicians.
• Screen calls for referrals to nurse or physician; triage patients for department flow.

We’re seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide clinical expertise to ensure all patients receive high‑quality, efficient care.

What You Will Do

• Manage efficient flow of patients, including screening, preparation for exam, instructing patients on collection of any necessary samples/tests, and obtaining vitals.
• Notify patients of test results and follow‑up appointments and instruct patients and families about medications and treatment instructions.
• Manage patient records including chart entries and posting lab/tests and examination results.
• Schedule tests and treatments, including arranging referrals to a specialist and obtaining pre‑authorizations when directed by the provider.
• Assist provider with physical exams and be prepared for physicals.
• Contact pharmacy to order prescriptions and notify patients.
• Control inventory and monitor supplies.
• Record health history of patients and note abnormal conditions for physicians.
• Respond to and screen telephone calls for referrals to nurse or physician.
• Triage patients to ensure productive departmental flow.
