Job summary

Ascension is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join the Adult Psychiatry team at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton, WI.

This part-time days role focuses on patient assessment, administering medications, monitoring for adverse reactions, and supporting the treatment plan. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, document care, educate patients and families, and participate in labs and therapeutic services.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 30 days of hire (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted)
• Practical/Vocational Nurse credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing
• High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable cumulative job-specific experience

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Contributes to the assessment of patients and assures the well‑being of patients.
• Administers medications and observes patients for adverse reactions to medications or treatments.
• Performs laboratory tests and therapeutic services.
• Educates patients/families about disease treatment plan including self care post discharge, holistic health needs, available resources and follow up care.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Practical/Vocational Nurse credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. *Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
