Job summary

Eyefinity, Inc. seeks an optician to deliver exceptional customer service while fitting ophthalmic lenses and frames with precision. You will evaluate prescriptions, recommend lenses and coatings, and guide customers through frame choices based on measurements and needs.

Qualifications

  • Requires applicable State licensure or certification by a nationally recognized optician association as an optician.
  • Ability to sell through use of sales skills and accountability for sales results.
  • Experience and results with a retail or customer service establishment.
  • Ability to provide enthusiastic and concise communication to meet/exceed customer expectations as well as foster positive and results-oriented associate, doctor, and host relationships.
  • Success in store merchandising and attention to detail.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Experience with personal computers preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Fill ophthalmic eyeglass prescriptions and fit and adapt lenses and frames.
  • Utilize optical prescription to evaluate and match customer visual requirements.
  • Recommend lenses, coatings, and frames and assist with frame selection and measurements.
  • Conduct measurements (bridge, eye size, temple length, vertex distance, pupillary distance, optical centers).
  • Ensure high quality through accurate measurements, pricing, and delivery quotes.
  • Maximize Managed Vision Care relationships and sales opportunities.
  • Support marketing programs and ensure positive host relationships.
  • Other duties as assigned by Optical Manager and Associates.

Job description

Attract and retain customers by delivering exceptional customer service, fostering customer retention, and promoting outstanding associate/doctor satisfaction.

Drive profitable store sales by fostering a customer care culture through practicing and use of effective retail sales skills utilizing the Total Customer Experience Model.

Develop professional business relationships with other Associates, Host, and Doctor.

Fill ophthalmic eyeglass prescriptions and fit and adapt lenses and frames, including but not limited to the following:

  • Utilizing optical prescription, evaluate prescription in conjunction with customer's visual requirements
  • Recommend specific lenses, lens coatings, and frames to suit customer needs
  • Assist customers in the selection of frames and coordinate frames with optical measurements and prescription
  • Conduct measurements of bridge and eye size, temple length, vertex distance, pupillary distance, and optical centers using appropriate tools
  • Ensure high quality through accurate measurements, correct pricing, and realistic delivery time quotes
  • Maximize Managed Vision Care relationships and sales opportunities as measured by:
    • Effective plan administration and local service
    • Improvements in average transaction
    • Locally initiated plans
  • Assist with the timely implementation of approved Marketing programs by executing marketing programs and initiatives
  • Ensure positive and productive host relationships through Host participation, support, and satisfaction measured by Patient Satisfaction Surveys
  • Other duties as assigned by Optical Manager and other Associates

For roles that are remote (i.e., Work From Home (WFM)) or hybrid (i.e., partial onsite at a VSP location and WFM), must demonstrate a high level of engagement in virtual environments, including maintaining camera presence during meetings to support effective communication and team alignment.

Compensation range for the role is listed below.

Applicable salary ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job‑related factors permitted by law.

As a part of the compensation package, this role may include eligible bonuses and commissions.

Salary Ranges: $22.00 - $34.56
