Visionworks of America seeks an Optical Sales Associate in Town of Niskayuna, NY to assist customers with frame and lens selection and to interpret prescriptions for accurate product recommendations.

You will apply the SERVE sales process, coordinate with labs and optometrists, and maintain dispensing accuracy while upholding HIPAA and privacy policies. This is a full-time position with emphasis on customer service and compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience explaining optical products, services and prescription interpretations.
• Ability to communicate ophthalmic information clearly to customers.
• Familiarity with third-party insurance benefits and coverage for eyewear.
• Adept at using the SERVE sales process to determine customer needs.

Responsabilités

• Assist customers with frame and lens selection.
• Ensure compliance with social distancing and hygiene protocols.
• Provide accurate information on frames, lens choices and services.
• Explain third‑party insurance benefits and any charges not covered.
• Use SERVE sales process to identify needs and recommend lenses.
• Interpret prescriptions and coordinate with Lab/Optometrist for accuracy.
• Sell, fit and dispense frames and accessories with precise measurements.
• Maintain a clean, orderly dispensing area.
• Ensure pricing accuracy for retail customers.
• Maintain state licensure per guidelines.
• Provide guidance to Apprentices where applicable.
• Comply with HIPAA and privacy policies.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment and workstation.
• Take on additional responsibilities as business needs require.
