Job summary

Visionworks in New York is seeking a customer-focused optician to assist customers with frame and lens selection, interpret prescriptions and dispense eyewear. You will work through the SERVE sales process and communicate with labs and optometrists to ensure prescription accuracy.

Responsibilities include maintaining a clean dispensing area, accurate pricing, HIPAA compliance, and providing excellent service in a busy retail setting.

Qualifications

• Must have and maintain applicable state licensure for ophthalmic dispensing.
• Knowledge of explaining optical products, services, the analysis and interpretation of optical prescriptions, fitting and dispensing.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with frame and lens selection and dispensing.
• Provide accurate product and insurance information to customers.
• Utilize SERVE sales process to identify customer needs and recommend lenses.
• Communicate with Lab and Optometrist to ensure prescription accuracy.
• Maintain a clean, organized dispensing area.
• Adhere to HIPAA and privacy policies.
