Job summary

Visionworks in Kingston, NY seeks an Optical Sales Associate to assist customers with frame and lens selection, interpret prescriptions, and dispense products with attention to social distancing and hygiene standards.

Responsibilities include explaining products, coordinating with labs and optometrists, and maintaining accurate pricing while upholding HIPAA/privacy policies. Prior state licensure for ophthalmic dispensing is required.

Qualifications

• Must have and maintain applicable state licensure for ophthalmic dispensing.
• Ability to explain optical products and prescription interpretation.
• Ability to fit and dispense frames and lenses.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in frame and lens selection meeting social distance requirements.
• Ensure compliance with social distancing, cleaning protocols and hygiene practices.
• Provide customers with accurate product information regarding frames, lens selections and services.
• Provide customers with insurance information and explain benefits and charges.
• Utilize SERVE sales process to identify needs and recommend lenses.
• Analyze and interpret prescriptions and coordinate with Lab and Optometrist.
• Sell, fit and dispense frames and accessories with accurate measurements and adjustments.
• Maintain a clean and orderly dispensing area.
• Ensure accuracy of customer pricing and adhere to privacy policies.
• Maintain license requirements per State guidelines.
• Provide feedback to Apprentices and participate in training.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment and facilities daily.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
