Licensed Optical Assistant Manager - SouthPark

Warby Parker is seeking a highly skilled Licensed Optical Manager to join our in-house Optical team. (Similar roles may be called Optical Assistant Manager at other brands.) In this role, you will use your professional skills and product knowledge to create exceptional customer experiences. You will assist both seasoned Warby Parker fans and first-time wearers, ensuring they leave confident and excited about our glasses. You will serve as both a coach and team player, leading your store’s Opticians and consulting customers as needed. Our ideal candidate is a lifelong learner who embraces challenges, fosters a positive work environment, and contributes to Warby Parker's growth.

What you’ll do:

Optical duties

• Assist customers with their eyewear needs
• Take and record measurements, adjust and fit eyewear with accuracy
• Ensure finished eyewear meets optical standards and customer requests
• Explain prescription terminology and product options to customers

Leadership responsibilities

• Report to the Store Leader, anticipate staffing needs, and oversee Optician Apprentice Program participants
• Manage a team of Opticians through feedback, development conversations, and leading by example
• Maintain high service standards and implement programs to increase customer loyalty and engagement
• Stay updated on HR policies to promote a safe, productive store culture and leverage resources for employee engagement
• Support store systems, inventory, and overall business operations

Who you are:

• A licensed dispensing optician (or ABO-certified in non-licensing states) with 2+ years of management experience
• A strong leader and mentor, driven to meet optical metrics and uphold standards
• Professional, open-minded, and decisive
• Passionate about eyewear and retail
• Effective communicator, able to simplify technical terms for customers
• Customer and team-focused with a detail-oriented approach
• Someone who takes work seriously but maintains humility
• Not listed on the OIG’s LEIE
