Job Description - Licensed Nursing Home Administrator (2506312)

Job Purpose:

Directs the day-to-day functions of the nursing center in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations governing long-term care centers, and as directed by the Area Vice President, to provide appropriate care for patients/residents.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Maintain current knowledge of state and federal laws governing nursing facility operations.
2. Understand licensing and payment programs, general business practices, nursing practice, resident care psychology, personal care and social services, therapeutic and supportive long-term care, and environmental health and safety relevant to nursing facilities.
3. Formulate operational strategies to achieve facility objectives within budgets and time frames.
4. Manage daily nursing facility operations, departmental organization, community resources, and represent the facility to community groups, advocacy organizations, government agencies, and the public.
5. Apply professional standards to ensure quality care and establish criteria for standards compliance.
6. Demonstrate competency in financial management, budgeting, and resource allocation.
7. Develop and implement administrative policies reflecting the center’s philosophy and mission, compliant with laws and regulations.
8. Respect and uphold the rights, dignity, and individuality of residents, acting as a role model for staff.
9. Follow written and verbal directions effectively, communicating clearly with staff, professionals, residents, and government agencies.
10. Align all duties with the center’s mission and philosophy.
11. Maintain confidentiality of patient/resident and center information.
12. Demonstrate honesty and integrity in the care and use of property.

Qualifications:

1. Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, or related fields.
2. Minimum Experience: At least two (2) years in a supervisory role in a hospital or long-term care nursing center, with knowledge of operational standards and regulations.
3. Licensure/Certification: Must be a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator in the state of the facility.
4. Additional Qualifications: Master’s Degree preferred.
