Qualifications

• Ability to document procedures clearly and accurately.

Responsibilities

• Follow facility policies for administering medications to residents.
• Note and report medication errors promptly.
• Assist in developing procedures to reduce medication errors.
• Complete forms, charts, and reports as required.
• Maintain professional relationships with nursing staff, physicians, and pharmacists.
• Participate in quality assurance programs and medication-related committees.
• Prepare, administer, and document oral/topical medications as ordered.
• Verify medications brought by new residents with prescribing staff.
• Follow labeling, charting, and drug-receipt error procedures.
• Assist in medication management during resident transfers or changes in therapy.
• Observe and verify resident ingestion or application of medications and document refusals or issues.
