Qualifications

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret procedures, regulations, and general information.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information to managers and employees.
  • Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
  • Ability to solve practical problems with concrete variables.

Responsibilities

  • Follow policies governing the administration of medications to residents.
  • Note and report errors in medication administration.
  • Assist in developing procedures to prevent medication errors and determine what/when/why errors occur.
  • Complete required forms, charts, and reports; submit as required.
  • Maintain professional relationships with Health Services staff, physicians, and pharmacists.
  • Participate in quality assurance programs and surveys.
  • Accurately prepare, administer, and document medications as ordered.
  • Verify resident identity before medication administration.
  • Document vital signs as applicable and ensure proper labeling and charting of meds.
