UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a skilled and dependable Licensed Journeyman Electrician to join our Electrical Shop team. This position is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems within hospital and academic research environments, providing journeyman level skills in electrical work.

• Education: High School Diploma or GED or Vocational training.
• Experience: 4 years journeyman level experience as an Electrician.
• Licenses: Current Journeyman Electrician license issued by TDLR.

Responsabilidades

• Repairs, installs, replaces, and tests electrical circuits and equipment.
• Inspects and tests circuits; isolates defects and replaces wiring and components.
• Installs new wiring and apparatus using blueprints; connects to distribution panels.
• Assembles and connects switchboards and distribution units.
• Assists in estimating time and materials for jobs.
• Troubleshoots and maintains campus lighting circuits.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

UT Southwestern is seeking a skilled and dependable Licensed Journeyman Electrician to join our Electrical Shop team. This position is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems within hospital and academic research/clinical environments. Provides journeyman level skills in performance of electrical work.

We are looking for someone with strong knowledge of electrical codes, regulations, tools, materials, and trade practices, along with excellent problem-solving and customer service skills. Healthcare or hospital electrical experience is highly preferred.

Candidates must hold a valid, active Journeyman Electrician License issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) and be able to work independently and collaboratively to complete projects safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

Work Location: Dallas Campus; assist other UTSW locations as needed.

Shift Requirement: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM; work schedule particulars to be discussed during interview.

Experience and Education

• Education High School Diploma or GED equivalent or Vocational school
• Experience 4 years skilled or journeyman level experience as an Electrician
• Licenses and Certifications (ELEC) ELECTRICAL JOURNEYMAN - Must have current licensure as a Journeyman Electrician issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) Upon Hire

Job Duties

• Repairs, installs, replaces, and tests electrical circuits, equipment, and appliances, using hand tools and testing instruments, to supply electrical power for lighting and operation of equipment and apparatus.
• Inspects and tests electrical circuits and equipment; isolates defects in wiring, switches, motors, and other equipment, replacing defective wiring, switches, sockets, plugs, and insulators.
• Installs new wiring and electrical apparatus, using blueprints and diagrams to determine correct location and layout; runs wire through conduit, and makes connections to complete circuits.
• Assembles, installs, and connects components of switchboards and distribution panels, and connects to units controlled.
• Assists in estimating time and materials required for job.
• Troubleshoots and maintains all lighting circuits on campus.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
