Job summary

State Farm independent contractor agency in Reston, VA seeks an Insurance Sales Agent (P&C, L&H) to engage clients, assess needs, and sell Property & Casualty and Life & Health policies. You will manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to policy servicing in a supportive team environment.

The ideal candidate is licensed in P&C and L&H, with proven sales experience, excellent communication, and a client‑focused mindset.

Qualifications

• Active Property & Casualty (P&C) license required.
• Active Life & Health (L&H) license required.
• Proven experience in insurance sales, inside or outside sales, telemarketing, or retail sales preferred.
• Demonstrated success meeting sales goals and quotas preferred.
• Excellent written, verbal, and listening communication skills.
• Self‑motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with clients.
• Willingness to work on-site in Reston, VA.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage leads to build a robust sales pipeline.
• Schedule and conduct client appointments to assess insurance needs.
• Present and market appropriate insurance products and services to individuals and families.
• Establish and nurture customer relationships through consistent follow-up and communication.
• Deliver prompt, accurate, and friendly customer service, including answering questions about policy availability, eligibility, coverage, policy changes, transfers, claims, and billing.
• Assist clients with policy selection, quoting, applications, and ongoing service needs.
• Meet or exceed sales targets and agency goals through effective sales strategies and customer engagement.
• Maintain compliance with all licensing, regulatory, and agency standards.
