Job summary

Ashley Furniture is seeking a licensed HVAC Technician with 5 years of commercial experience to join our maintenance team. You will install, repair, and service HVAC systems across facilities, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure compliance with safety and EPA refrigerant regulations.

Strong troubleshooting skills and a high school diploma are required. Responsibilities include maintaining CMMS records, interpreting schematics, and coordinating with BAS and building automation systems.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and troubleshoot HVAC systems per specs and codes.

Licensed HVAC Technician - 5 Years Commercial Experience

Key Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and troubleshoot HVAC systemsincluding rooftop units, air handlers, chillers, boilers, and air distribution systems according to specifications and building codes
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical failuresin HVAC equipment, replace defective components (compressors, motors, fans, controls), and perform brazed repairs and refrigerant recovery/charging procedures
• Execute preventive maintenance programplant-wide including scheduled inspections, filter changes, lubrication, refrigerant level checks, coil cleaning, and system performance monitoring
• Maintainaccuratemaintenance recordsin computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and ensure all systemsoperatewithin manufacturer specifications
• Troubleshoot electrical componentsincluding motors, contactors, relays, and power distribution systems (120V-480V) using electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
• Work with building automation systems (BAS)and digital controls, including installation and programming of thermostats, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and control panels
• Service refrigeration systems(walk-in coolers, freezers, process cooling) whilemaintainingEPA compliance for refrigerant handling, recovery, and recycling procedures
• Assess equipment conditionand provide recommendations for repairs, replacements, and energy efficiency improvements; order parts andmaintaininventory
• Ensure safety and regulatory compliancefollowing OSHA regulations, lockout/tagout procedures, EPA Section 608 refrigerant regulations, and proper use of PPE
• Read and interpret technical documentationincluding electrical schematics, control sequences, and equipment specifications to diagnose issues and complete installations

Qualifications

Required:

• 3-5 years of HVAC experience in commercial or industrial settings
• Strong electro-mechanical skills with proven troubleshooting ability
• Ability toproperly usehand tools and test equipment in a safe manner
• Knowledge of power distribution, lighting, control systems, and electrical equipment
• Ability todeterminecause of electrical failures in HVAC systems
• Valid driver's licenserequired
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

Preferred:

• 3-5 years of industrial electrical experience
• State HVAC contractor license or journeyman certification
• Experience with building automation systems (BAS) such as Trane, Carrier, Johnson Controls, or Honeywell
• Boiler operator license
• Electrical journeyman or master electrician license
• Experience in manufacturing or warehouse environments
• Forklift and aerial lift certification
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
• NATE (North American Technician Excellence) certification
