Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Licensed Group Counselor to provide group psychotherapeutic services under supervision and to support patients across units.

The role requires a Master’s degree in Social Work or related field, NJ Licensed Social Worker license, and at least 1 year in a healthcare setting. Strong communication, documentation skills, and proficiency with MS Office/Google Suite are essential.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work or related Mental Health Counseling field.
• Minimum 1 year relevant experience in a healthcare setting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Provide group psychotherapeutic activities and group counseling to assigned patient groups.
• Complete group counselor assessments within 48 hours of admission.
• Lead multiple therapeutic groups daily and on occasional evenings/weekends.
• Document progress, plans, and outcomes in patient records with adherence to regulatory standards.
• Attend multidisciplinary treatment plan conferences and communicate progress to the treatment team.
