Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Licensed Group Counselor to provide group psychotherapeutic services under clinical supervision in a dynamic New Jersey hospital setting. The role supports patients with mood and behavior stabilization, grief, trauma, and coping skills, within a team-based approach.

The position requires a Master's in Social Work, NJ LSW or Associate Counselor license, and at least one year of healthcare experience.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work or related mental health field.
• NJ Licensed Social Worker or Associate Counselor License is required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Provides group psychotherapeutic services to assigned patient groups.
• Completes the Group Counselor Assessment within 48 hours of admission.
• Delivers a minimum of four therapeutic groups per day and occasional weekend groups.
• Adheres to health, safety, and Joint Commission requirements.
• Documents progress and updates plan of care with the treatment team.
