Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health in New Jersey seeks a Group Counselor to provide therapeutic and recreational group activities, leisure assessment, and group counseling services to a defined caseload of patients.

Hours are Monday through Friday, with one weekend day per pay period and holidays as required. A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field is required; Masters degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or related field.
• Minimum 1 year relevant work experience in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide therapeutic and recreational group activities and leisure assessment.
• Deliver group counseling services to assigned caseload of patients.

*Hours are: Monday - Friday, one weekend day a pay period, 2/6 holidays required, behavioral health experience preferred, experience running groups preferred.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or related field.
  
• Minimum 1 year relevant work experience in a healthcare setting.
  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  
• Proficient computer skills that may include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

• Masters Degree.
