Palmer-Marler Funeral Home in Oklahoma is seeking a Funeral Director to lead the planning and execution of funeral and memorial services, ensuring families' expectations are met with care and professionalism.

The role requires coordinating clergy and participants, preparing the deceased, and guiding families through arrangements, while maintaining high standards of empathy, teamwork, and attention to detail in a demanding environment.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree or equivalent combination of education, training and experience preferred.
• Minimum two years of experience as a licensed Funeral Director.
• Valid Funeral Director License; reciprocal across states and in good standing.
• Valid state driver's license in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Consult with client families or legal representatives to design services.
• Present all merchandising and service options to families.
• Obtain information for obituaries, death certificates, permits and insurance.
• Coordinate service arrangements with clergy and other participants.
• Record merchandise selections, enter contracts, and complete forms.
• Plan and conduct visitations and services.
• Oversee staff during services and ensure professional representation.
• Prepare the deceased, including dressing and casketing.
• Direct families and attendees to and from the service location.
• Help transport and ship remains as needed.
• Instruct Apprentice Funeral Directors and supervise paperwork.
