Sunset Lawn Chapel of the Chimes in Sacramento, CA seeks a Funeral Director/Embalmer to manage all phases of funeral arrangements, from removal to service and disposition, while guiding families with compassion and professional expertise.

The ideal candidate will be licensed in California, proficient in MS Office, and knowledgeable about death-care regulations. Compensation is $25–$29/hour, with comprehensive benefits and a supportive team culture.

Qualifications

• Licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer in California (or reciprocity).
• Excellent communication skills and integrity; passion for serving others.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Knowledge of current federal, state and local regulations related to the death care profession.

Responsibilities

• Provide comfort, guidance to families before, during, and after loss, serving as the director for visitations, funerals, or graveside services.
• Complete embalming, disinfecting, dressing, preparing, and casketing of the deceased per OSHA standards.
• Prepare and complete accurate documents related to services, cremations, maintenance, and other data.
• Always maintains reverence and respect for the deceased.
• ECHO champion.
• P.A.C.T. driver.
