Douglas County (NE) seeks an incumbent to maintain, repair, and troubleshoot building systems in accordance with safety and compliance regulations. The role covers HVAC, boilers, water heaters, pumps, generators, and electrical systems, with emphasis on prompt service and reliability.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, two years of HVAC experience, and a valid driver’s license, plus a Third Grade Engineer License.

Competenze

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of operating, maintaining, or repairing commercial HVAC systems experience required.
• Third Grade Engineer License required.
• Valid driver’s license and own transportation required.
• Pre-employment criminal record check, drug screen and physical assessment required.
• Equivalent combination of education and work experience may be substituted for requirements on a year-for-year basis.

Mansioni

• Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot building systems (safety/compliance).</br>Install, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair building mechanical systems and components (e.g. HVAC, boilers, water heaters, pumps, generators, ventilation, electrical systems).
• Provide prompt, efficient, and responsive service.
• Establish and maintain effective work relationships with clients, County employees, elected officials, attorneys, law enforcement, judges, other agencies, and the public.
• Comply with Civil Service Rules, collective bargaining agreements, County policies and department policies.
• Identify, diagnose, correct or recommend action to supervisor.
• Operate electrical test equipment and analyze devices to determine potential failures.
• Adhere to safety measures.
• Determine necessary equipment and materials, and requisition parts and supplies.
• Interpret drawings and blueprints for mechanical, electrical, and facilities systems.
• Perform electrical maintenance (disconnecting, replacing, rerouting).
• Perform minor brazing and welding repairs.
• Prioritize work requests and orders.
• Coordinate and oversee contractors.
• Complete work orders.
• Provide technical guidance and recommendations.
• Maintain job knowledge through training.
• Monitor equipment technology and trends.
• Safely operate a motor vehicle for county business.
• Report to work with regular attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
