Job summary

Douglas County School District is seeking an experienced Electrician II - Journeyman to repair, maintain, and install electrical systems across district facilities. You will coordinate work within the electrical maintenance team and ensure safety and code compliance.

The role requires 3–5 years of related experience, a high school diploma with specialized training, and the ability to obtain a Colorado Journeyman license within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High school graduate with specialized classes beyond high school.
• 8,000 hours of on-the-job training required.
• 288 hours of electrical training in grounding/bonding, NEC changes, wiring methods, theory/calculations as required by DORA.
• 10 hours OSHA safety training required.
• Must obtain Journeyman license within 90 days of hire.
• License must be maintained through required continuing competency every three years.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and delegate work within the electrical maintenance trade.
• Evaluate problems and situations relating to electrical equipment, make decisions accordingly.
• Inspect, repair and maintain electrical systems and equipment at various district facilities.
• Estimate repairs and projects in terms of labor and materials.
• Repair electrical motors, controllers and starters.
