Job summary

Palmdale Regional Medical Center, part of Universal Health Services, Inc., seeks a Licensed Engineer to perform routine and skilled preventive maintenance in a hospital setting. Under general supervision, you will work with the Director of Plant Operation to maintain buildings, equipment, and facilities in Palmdale, CA.

The role requires 3+ years as a plant operator, an Associate degree in Engineering or related field, and licenses or 10 years of equivalent experience.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of experience as a plant operator; acute hospital setting preferred.
• Associates degree in Engineering or related field; high school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics and technical manuals.
• Licenses in Steam Engineer, Electrician or related trade OR 10 years minimum experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and skilled preventive maintenance on buildings, equipment, and facilities.
• Demonstrate knowledge of equipment, controls, and building automation maintenance.
• Read blueprints and technical manuals to guide repairs and alterations.
• Maintain safety and compliance with EPA requirements and licenses.

Position Description

Under general supervision, the Licensed Engineer reports to the Director of Plant Operation and preforms a variety of routine or skilled preventive maintenance duties in the repair, alteration, & modification of buildings, equipment, & facilities.

Qualifications

Job Duties/Responsibilities Requirements

• Three (3) years of experience as a plant operator. Acute hospital setting is preferred.
• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Associates of Arts degree in Engineering or technical disciplines in Plant Operations, HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, or equivalent.
• Ability to demonstrate knowledge of equipment, controls, and building automation maintenance.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematic drawings and technical manuals.
• Light locksmith skills.
• Written and verbal communications, interpersonal skills.
• Basic organizational and computer skills.
• Steam Engineer License, Electrician License, Journeyman or certification in a specific trade (Boiler, HVAC, Refrigeration, Electrician, Plumbing) OR 10 years minimum experience.
• Environment Protection Agency required.
• Valid CA Driver’s License required.
