Job summary

Mr. Electric of Orem is seeking a Lead Residential Service Electrician to run a premium service route, mentor junior techs, and maintain a clean, on-time truck. This role is a direct pipeline to becoming our full-time Service Manager within the next 24 months.

We offer uncapped compensation with a base hourly of $35–$42, personal production bonuses, team revenue overrides, and strong benefits including a Mercedes service van, advanced tech, PTO, a 401(k) with match, and healthcare support.

Qualifications

• Current Utah Journeyman or Master Electrician license or transfer-ready credentials.

Position Type: Full-Time, Working Field Supervisor

Expected Total Compensation: $95,000- $120,000+ (Base + Personal Production + Team Overrides)

We are looking for our nextLead Residential Service Electrician—a master of troubleshooting who will run their own truck cleanly while serving as the go-to field mentor for our growing team.Most importantly, this role is a direct pipeline to becoming our full-time, off-the-truck Service Manager within the next 24 months.

The Growth Path: Your Exit Strategy from the Truck

We don't just promise advancement; we map it out in writing from Day 1:

• Phase 1: The Working Lead (Months 1–12):Run a premium service route, lead by example, and act as the technical lifeline for junior techs in the field.

• Phase 2: The Field Supervisor (Months 13–24):Shift to a 50/50 split between high-ticket field work and management duties (conducting field quality checks, ride-alongs, and running weekly shop training).

• Phase 3: Full-Time Service Manager (Month 24+):Hang up your tool belt. Step entirely off the truck and into the office to run the division, handle hiring, and drive branch strategy with full salary and branch profitability bonuses.

Premium Base Hourly: $35.00 – $42.00 / hour (Based on your license type and experience level).

• Team Revenue Override:Earn 3% on gross margin on all electricians/trucks, including your own. When you help them succeed, your paycheck grows automatically.

What We Are Looking For

• The License: A current, valid Utah Journeyman or Master Electrical License (or comparable out-of-state credentials ready to transfer to DOPL).

• The Experience:Minimum of 5 years of dedicated residential electrical experience, with a heavy emphasis on residential service, advanced troubleshooting, and panel upgrades.

• The Mindset:A proactive, "extreme ownership" attitude. You don't just spot problems; you create solutions.

• The Basics:Clean driving record, ability to pass a background check and periodic drug testing.

Your Core Responsibilities

• Lead by Example:Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair complex residential electrical systems cleanly and efficiently according to code.

• Provide Field Support:Act as the primary phone or on-site technical resource for junior team members when they hit a roadblock on a job.

• Champion the System:Follow and teach Mr. Electric’s proven customer-service processes, ensuring clients are given clear options and premium communication.

• Protect the Fleet:Oversee the organizational standards, cleanliness, and material tracking for your assigned van.
