Mr. Electric of The Black Hills seeks a Residential Journeyman Electrician to troubleshoot, service, and replace residential wiring. This role offers a clear path to field leadership, a stable schedule with no on-call or weekend hours, and a company-provided van for daily visits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of residential electrical service and troubleshooting experience.
• Must hold a valid Journeyman’s License (reciprocal out-of-state licenses welcome).
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Physically able to perform electrician duties and pass required checks.
• Strong computer/iPad skills; familiarity with Service Titan is a plus.
• Able to work Monday–Friday with standard start times.

Responsibilities

• Solve customer electrical problems and ensure home safety.
• Troubleshoot complex residential electrical issues.

Residential Journeyman Electrician - Up to $45/hour OTE and Lead / Field Supervisor Track - No On-Call

What’s In It for You

• High Earning Potential: Earn $40 to $45 per hour OTE (On-Target Earnings) through our strong incentive and spiff structure.


• Relocation Assistance: Willing to cover moving expenses (via a relocation stipend) if you are moving to the area with a reciprocal Journeyman's license from another state.


• Paid Holidays (NINE): Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day.

• Independence: Run your own service calls from a company-supplied van and start/finish from home every day.

• Premium Overtime: If there is a desire to work evenings or weekends to earn even more, pay is double time (completely voluntary). Standard OT (over 40 hours) pays time and a half.

Skills and/or Requirements

• 5+ years of prior professional-level residential electrical service and troubleshooting experience.


• Must hold a valid Journeyman’s License (candidates with reciprocal out-of-state licenses are welcome!).


• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.


• Physically able to perform the day-to-day duties of an electrician.


• Strong computer/iPad skills; Service Titan experience is a major plus!


• Able to pass a drug test, background check, and MVR.


• Must be able to work M-F (7:00 AM start on Mondays, 7:30 AM start the rest of the week).


• Typically 8-hour days (though flexibility is occasionally needed to wrap up a project for a customer).

Responsibilities

• Solve customer’s electrical problems and build confidence that their home will be safe.


• Troubleshoot complex electrical issues found in residential properties.


• Deliver top-notch, quality customer service.


• Assist customers in evaluating repairs versus replacement options and perform work as needed (light fixtures, switches, receptacles, circuit wiring, breakers, panels, and more).


• Perform routine maintenance inspections.


• Access areas of the home being serviced, including crawl spaces and attic areas.


• Identify materials and quantities needed for new and repair projects.


• Provide work order descriptions and price customers’ projects on an iPad using Service Titan.


• Willing and able to work safely on ladders.


• Keep your company vehicle clean and well‑maintained.
