Job summary

Mr. Electric of NW Houston is seeking a licensed Journeyman Electrician or Residential Wireman for full-time field work in Houston.

Work includes installation, maintenance and repair of residential wiring, lighting and control systems, with a home-dispatched vehicle. You will work with state licensing, earn strong compensation in the $100k-$150k+ first year depending on performance, and receive health, retirement, and PTO benefits.

Qualifications

• Licensing: Valid Texas Electrical License (Residential Wireman or Journeyman’s License).
• Experience: 3-5 years of residential electrical experience, with a strong focus on troubleshooting and service.
• Quality Craftsmanship: NEC code compliant on every job.
• Professional Presence: tidy, well-groomed appearance with a clean uniform.
• Mindset: proactive, capable of working autonomously while following best practices.

Responsibilities

• Field Operations: Install, maintain, and repair residential wiring and control systems from your service van.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose electrical issues with testing devices and inspect panels for faults.
• Customer Connection: Communicate options clearly to homeowners and propose solutions.
• Van Management: Keep van organized and stocked; conduct inventory checks quarterly.
• Process & Execution: Follow company systems to deliver exceptional results and improve performance.

What We’re Seeking

• Licensing: Valid Texas Electrical License (Residential Wireman or Journeyman’s License).
• Experience: 3-5 years of residential electrical experience, with a strong focus on troubleshooting and service (light commercial experience is a plus!).
• Quality Craftsmanship: Clean, top-tier work executed strictly to NEC code on every single job.
• Professional Presence: A tidy, well-groomed appearance with a clean, neat uniform (tucked in!).
• Mindset: A positive, proactive attitude; able to work autonomously while following our best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Field Operations: Work independently out of your provided service van to install, maintain, and repair residential wiring, control systems, and lighting.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose electrical issues using appropriate testing devices; inspect transformers and circuit breakers for faults.
• Customer Connection: Provide excellent, clear communication with homeowners, offering options and solutions so they can choose what’s best for their home.
• Van Management: Keep your assigned service van clean, organized, and properly stocked; conduct quarterly material inventories.
• Process & Execution: Consistently follow Mr. Electric’s proven system to deliver exceptional results and elevate your own performance.
