JSM Airport Services, LLC is seeking a licensed Journeyman Electrician for Boston Logan International Airport (BOS). The role focuses on providing electrical guidance, maintenance, and overseeing all electrical systems under our maintenance contract.

The position is career-track with a commitment of 1 year or more, and involves flexible shift assignments in a 24/7 operation. Starting hourly rate is $36.00, with weekly pay, and full-time employment.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 3–5 years of experience in the commercial electrical field preferred.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Knowledge of electrical circuits, wiring, and local electrical codes.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and written references.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

  • Provide electrical code guidance for new equipment installations and ensure wiring meets code standards.
  • Install and repair control and distribution apparatus, including motors, relays, switches, and panels.
  • Connect power supply wiring, cables, conduit, and electrical apparatus per diagrams/schematics.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical problems using testing instruments.
  • Diagnose and resolve problems in circuits, systems, and equipment.
  • Maintain records on material and labor used and inventory of tools.

Licensed Electrician

JSM Airport Services, LLC is seeking a highly motivated Journeyman Electrician at Boston Logan International Airport (BOS). This is a career-track opportunity, and we are looking for an individual ready to commit to a long-term professional future with our company, starting with an expected commitment of 1 year or more. The primary responsibilities include providing electrical guidance, maintenance, and oversight of all mechanical/electrical systems covered under our maintenance contract, assisting other technicians with challenging electrical repairs, and troubleshooting electrical iss ues.

Compensation:

  • Full-Time
  • Weekly Pay
  • Hourly Rate: Starting at $36.00 (Dependent on Experience)

Work Schedule:

Must be able to work as scheduled (this is a 24-hour, seven-day-a-week operation). Holidays will be included if they fall on a scheduled workday. Shift assignments are based on the airport and company requirements, as well as a technician's strengths, skill set, and experience. Our technicians are expected to be flexible in terms of prospective shift assignments.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide electrical code guidance and direction on new equipment installations and ensure all new equipment/projects are wired to meet code/standards
  • Install and repair control and distribution apparatus, including motors, relays, switches, thermostats, circuit-breaker panels, etc.
  • Install and connect power supply wiring, cables, conduit, and electrical apparatus for machines and equipment in new and existing systems and facilities, following diagrams, schematics, or blueprints
  • Diagnose and resolve problems in electrical circuits, systems, and equipment using testing instruments and equipment
  • Test continuity of circuits to ensure compatibility and safety of components using testing instruments
  • Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit
  • Receive and complete work order
  • Select material and hardware and make time and materials estimates
  • Maintain accurate records on material and labor used
  • Maintain inventory of company-owned tools, equipment, and materials
  • Inspect jobs upon completion and ensure areas are clean
  • Work with construction contractors, airport representatives and supervisors to complete projects
  • Detect needed repairs on buildings, grounds, and equipment following established inspection procedures
  • Respond to emergency calls as needed
  • If there is no specific electrical work to be addressed, assistance/support will be expected in other segments of the contract with the airport
  • Safety and compliance training as assigned
  • Perform other reasonable ancillary duties to support the operation and our customer

Qualifications:

  • High School Graduate or General Educational Development (GED)
  • Some post high school education or training preferred
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Must have at least three to five (3-5) years of experience in the commercial electrical field
  • Knowledge of electrical circuits and wiring and operating principles of motors
  • Knowledge of local electrical codes
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and written reference material
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve problems
  • Ability to use hand and power tools

Physical Requirements:

  • Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day
  • Ability up to lift up to 70 pounds; exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally with or without accommodation, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly.
  • Ability to climb ladders and navigate safely on catwalks and other elevated surfaces within height-constrained environments.
  • Ability work in and around baggage handling systems, passenger boarding bridges, or other related equipment
  • Regular exposure to work near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, cleaning/maintenance chemicals, cold and vibration.
  • Ability to withstand exposure to potentially loud noise levels.
  • Ability to withstand exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or other weather-related conditions.
