Job summary

John W. Stone Oil Distributor, LLC seeks a Licensed Dockman to oversee dockside and mid-stream fueling operations along the Mississippi River and Intracoastal Waterway.

You will serve as PIC, perform transfer operations, inspect barges, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance at the Gretna, LA facility. The role includes supervising hoses, valves, gauges, and paperwork while maintaining clean, safe operations in a 12-hour shift cycle (4 days on, 2 off, 4 nights on, 2 off).

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid TWIC credential.
• USCG Merchant Mariner Credential with Tankerman PIC endorsement (DL).

Responsibilities

• Serve as Person in Charge (PIC) for liquid cargo transfers.
• Perform liquid cargo transfer operations from docks, vessels, trucks, tote tanks, and shore tanks.
• Inspect the barge prior to transfer operations and connect/disconnect hoses.
• Monitor cargo flow, mooring lines, and supervise line-handling and rigging.
• Complete and submit paperwork including the Declaration of Inspection (DOI).
• Maintain facility cleanliness and operate forklift as needed.
• Adhere to USCG regulations and environmental laws; follow safety policies.
