Role Description

This full-time Licensed Customs Broker role is a hybrid position based in Union City, CA, with the flexibility to perform some duties from home. The Licensed Customs Broker will prepare, review, and file customs entries for import and export shipments, ensuring compliance with U.S. Customs and other regulatory agency requirements. Daily responsibilities include classifying goods, verifying documentation, coordinating with carriers and warehouses, and resolving customs-related issues. The role involves frequent communication with clients to provide status updates, explain regulatory requirements, and offer guidance on international trade and customs processes. The Licensed Customs Broker will also collaborate with internal operations, sales, and accounting teams to support efficient cargo movement, troubleshoot delays, and maintain accurate records.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong expertise in Customs Brokerage, including entry preparation, tariff classification, and regulatory compliance.
• Candidates should possess solid skills in Import and Export processes, covering documentation, clearance procedures, and trade regulations.
• Candidates should possess knowledge of International Trade, including trade agreements, duty structures, and global logistics practices.
• Candidates should possess excellent Customer Service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, manage client expectations, and resolve issues promptly.
• Active U.S. Customs Broker License required; prior experience in a customs brokerage or freight forwarding environment strongly preferred.
• Ability to work on-site in Union City, CA in a hybrid schedule, manage multiple shipments simultaneously, and meet strict deadlines.
• Proficiency with customs brokerage software, standard office applications, and basic data entry and documentation management.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills; ability to interpret customs regulations and apply them accurately.
• Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, international trade, or a related field is beneficial but not mandatory.
