Job summary

AGS Logistics seeks a licensed Customs Broker Supervisor to lead the entry writing team in Los Angeles, ensuring accurate classifications, duties, and CBP compliance for shipments handled by the company.

You will mentor staff, coordinate with CBP and other agencies, stay updated on tariff changes, and contribute to SOP development, training, and scheduling within the Customs Brokerage Department.

Qualifications

• Active U.S. Customs Broker License required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in customs brokerage.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory or team lead capacity.
• Strong knowledge of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule and CBP regulations.
• Experience with free trade agreements (FTAs) preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and related tools.
• On-site work at one of the listed locations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the licensed broker of record for CBP entries.
• Review and approve entries, classifications, and duty calculations.
• Supervise, train, and mentor entry writers; ensure quality control.
• Serve as primary contact for escalated classification and compliance issues.
• Monitor changes in CBP regulations and tariffs; update procedures.
• Audit entries and internal records for accuracy and compliance.
• Liaise with CBP, other agencies, and stakeholders on entry issues.
• Maintain CBP recordkeeping in compliance with regulations.
• Support SOP development, training, hiring, and scheduling.

Job description

• Serve as the company's Licensed Customs Broker of record for entries filed with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
• Review and approve customs entries, tariff classifications, and duty calculations prepared by the entry writing team.
• Supervise, train, and mentor entry writers, and provide day to day direction and quality control for the team.
• Act as the primary point of contact for escalated or complex classification, valuation, and compliance issues.
• Monitor changes in customs regulations, Harmonized Tariff Schedule updates, trade agreements, and CBP rulings, and update internal procedures accordingly.
• Conduct periodic audits of entries and internal recordkeeping to confirm accuracy and compliance with CBP requirements.
• Liaise with CBP, other government agencies, and internal stakeholders on entry issues, audits, and compliance matters.
• Maintain recordkeeping in accordance with CBP regulations.
• Support development, review, and training on standard operating procedures related to customs brokerage.
• Support hiring, performance reviews, and scheduling for the entry writing team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience and working knowledge in customs brokerage required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory or team lead capacity required.
• Strong knowledge of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule, CBP regulations, and free trade agreements.
• Cargowise, Descartes, NetCHB experience preferred
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Able to work on site at one of the listed locations.
