Job summary

U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, AL, is seeking a Commercial HVAC Service Technician with a minimum of four years’ experience. You will install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems in commercial environments, troubleshoot issues, and perform preventative maintenance.

The role requires reading blueprints, excellent problem-solving, and strong customer service. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, EPA 608 Certification, and an Alabama HVAC license.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years or related coursework in commercial HVAC.
• EPA 608 Certification required; Alabama state HVAC license required.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems in commercial buildings.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems in commercial buildings
• Troubleshoot HVAC system issues and determine necessary repairs
• Perform regular preventative maintenance on HVAC systems
• Ensure all installations and repairs meet industry standards
• Provide excellent customer service to clients
• Document all service and installation actions
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Proven work experience as a Commercial HVAC Service Technician
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics
• Excellent problem-solving skills

• Package HVAC & Split Systems
• Walk in Freezers/Coolers, Reach ins as well
• Chill Water Systems & Boilers
• Ductwork and VAV equipment
• Assistance with Kitchen Equipment

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent

Certifications Required

• EPA 608 Certification– Required nationwide for handling refrigerants; must be in addition to your Alabama licensewww.tradecertinfo.com .
• State HVAC License– Required for working as an HVAC contractor in Alabama.

Experience:

• Minimum 4 years or a combination of classes and work experience in commercial HVAC

Physical Requirements

• Walking and climbing (stairs) to access other departments and buildings.
• Carrying and lifting supplies and equipment up to 75 pounds to waist height.
• Bending, kneeling, reaching to store & retrieving supplies, cleaning high & low areas, behind exhibits, and maneuver equipment.
• Sight, wrist movements, feeling to inspect areas for cleanliness and to use cleaning tools and equipment.
• Talking and Hearing to communicate with supervisor(s), guests, and employees in person.
• Ability to be trained to use Lift Equipment and Operate Man Lifts to complete job duties.

Eligibility Qualifications

• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Work in various commercial settings. This role involves physical labor and may require working in a variety of weather conditions.
