Job summary

Madison Reed is seeking a Licensed Colorist in California to deliver quality color services, consultations, and excellent guest care. You’ll work to meet guest needs, upsell memberships and products, and maintain a clean, organized color bar with strong teamwork.

The role offers base hourly pay plus commissions and tips, with earnings ranging from $43 to $45 per hour, dependent on performance, tenure, and time behind the chair.

Qualifications

• Active cosmetology license in the state you are applying.
• 1+ year experience as colorist behind the chair.
• Strong communication, problem solving and people skills in a fast-paced retail or salon.
• Comfortable operating point-of-sale systems.
• Fluency in English.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate teamwork to provide a guest experience aligned with company values.
• Provide consultations and all services on the menu with high quality and guest satisfaction.
• Assist guests in product and color choices and stay on time for bookings.
• Contribute to monthly sales goals and KPIs including retail, services, memberships.
• Ensure the Hair Color Bar meets standards of cleanliness, merchandising and inventory.
• Adhere to Madison Reed systems, policies, processes and procedures.
• Drive revenue by increasing average service ticket and upselling memberships and products.
• Grow within Madison Reed via ongoing training and product knowledge.
• Support training of Assistant Colorists through coaching and guidance.
