Job summary

Phoenix House of New York | Long Island is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping individuals and families overcome substance use disorders and achieve lasting recovery. The Clinical Coordinator will lead on-site training and coaching for RSS, counselors, and clinicians to ensure high-quality, evidence-based care.

Responsibilities include delivering skills-based trainings, supervising role-plays and feedback, and coordinating with clinical and quality teams to align with standards of care

Qualifications

• Masters Degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling is required.
• Active NYS licensure: LMHC or LMSW; LCSW preferred.
• Experience with OASAS/OMH regulations and residential settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site orientation and onboarding training for new clinical staff and interns across substance use disorder residential programs.
• Deliver ongoing skills-based trainings and in-services based on program needs and clinical guidance.
• Teach evidence-based practices (MI, CBT, trauma-informed care, person-centered care) and crisis intervention.
• Train in individual counseling and group facilitation, clinical assessments, treatment planning, and discharge planning.
• Coach the clinical team through role-plays, feedback, and ongoing observation.
• Collaborate with clinical, medical, compliance/quality teams to ensure education aligns with policy and standards.
• Develop trainings based on quality or compliance gaps identified by the organization.
• Assist with chart reviews and data as needed in coordination with the compliance team.
• Coordinate residential community needs with leadership and maintain on-site presence across programs.

You Will Have Responsibilities Including But Not Limited To

Provide on-site orientation and onboarding training for new clinical staff and interns across substance use disorder residential programs.

• Deliver and help develop ongoing skills-based trainings, refreshers and in-services based on program needs, and clinical guidance.
• Provide education and skills development in evidence-based practices including motivational interviewing (MI), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma informed care and person-centered care, de-escalation, engaging clients, and crisis intervention.
• Provide hands-on training in individual counseling and group facilitation, clinical assessments, and treatment planning and discharge planning.
• Use role-play and case-based learning to demonstrate, observe, coach, and provide feedback to the clinical team.
• Provide on-site coaching, observation, and feedback to the clinical team on a regular basis.
• Partner with clinical, medical, compliance/quality teams to ensure education is consistent with the organizations guidance, policies/procedures, and standards of care, and clinical program requirements/expectations.
• Develop and deliver trainings based on needs identified from quality or compliance treatment gaps.
• Participates in audit reviews and assists the Clinical Directors/Clinical Supervisors with reviewing charts and data within the program as needed in conjunction with the compliance team.
• Coordinate needs of the residential community with leadership team. Maintain an on-site presence across the residential treatment programs to promote continuous learning.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION

• Masters Degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

• Active licensure in the state of NYS required: LMHC, LMSW
• Preferred LCSW

Required Experience

• Familiarity with OASAS / OMH regulations and those of other relevant bodies (i.e., housing providers, Department of Social Services, etc.)
• Experience in residential setting preferred.
