Job summary

FEI in Arden, NC is seeking a licensed Professional Engineer to lead land development projects from concept to construction. As Engineer-of-Record and Project Manager, you’ll own quality, schedule, budget, and client relationships, mentoring junior staff and coordinating with municipalities and regulatory agencies.

The ideal candidate holds an active NC PE, a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, and 5+ years in land development with strong AutoCAD Civil 3D skills, plus excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Active North Carolina PE license is required.
• Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering (ABET-accredited).
• 5+ years in land development engineering.
• 2+ years leading projects or managing people.
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Valid NC driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Lead land development projects as Engineer-of-Record and Project Manager.
• Take responsibility for project outcomes: quality, timelines, budgets, and client satisfaction.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, municipalities, and regulatory agencies.
• Guide and mentor Assistant Project Managers and technical staff.
• Design and review site plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D, including grading, erosion control, and subdivisions; water, sewer, and stormwater systems; stormwater management and final plats.
• Coordinate permitting and approvals with local and state agencies.
• Represent projects in meetings with boards, agencies, and stakeholders.
