Job summary

FEI in Arden, NC is seeking a licensed Professional Engineer to lead land development projects from concept to construction, while building strong client relationships across North Carolina. In the Engineer‑of‑Record and Project Manager role, you will own quality, schedules, budgets, and outcomes, mentor Assistant Project Managers, and coordinate with municipalities and regulatory agencies.

Qualifications

• NC PE license (active) is required.
• ABET-accredited Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering.
• 10+ years in land development engineering.
• 3+ years leading projects or managing people.
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Valid NC driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Lead land development projects as Engineer-of-Record and Project Manager.
• Take responsibility for project outcomes: quality, timelines, budgets, and client satisfaction.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, municipalities, and regulatory agencies.
• Guide and mentor Assistant Project Managers and technical staff.
• Design and review site plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D, including grading, erosion control, and subdivisions.
• Design water, sewer, and stormwater systems.
• Stormwater management and final plats.
• Coordinate permitting and approvals with local and state agencies.
• Represent projects in meetings with boards, agencies, and stakeholders.
