Job summary

SmithGroup, Inc. is seeking a licensed Civil Engineer to collaborate with project teams, develop designs through documentation, and coordinate interdisciplinary site work to deliver municipal infrastructure projects.

You will prepare documentation, support agency approvals, and mentor junior staff while maintaining SmithGroup standards and client relations. Telecommuting is allowed up to 2 days weekly with travel less than 10% of time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (foreign-equivalents accepted).
• Professional Engineer license in Michigan required or clearly active.
• Minimum 5 years progressive experience on municipal infrastructure projects.
• Experience with roadway reconstruction and water/sanitary/storm systems for public sector clients.

Responsibilities

• Develop designs through all documentation phases.
• Coordinate with disciplines to reinforce design intent on site design.
• Prepare development and documentation packages for projects.
• Assist in agency approvals and develop project specifications.
• Mentor staff and supervise project team performance.
• Communicate with clients and stakeholders; participate in proposals and interviews.
• Contribute graphics and drawings for marketing proposals and presentations.
