Job summary

Colorado Department of Corrections seeks a Boiler Operator at the Denver Correctional Complex. The CSLTS I will supervise inmate workers, ensure safety and security, and maintain boiler house and water treatment systems in a high-security environment.

Responsibilities include training inmates, coordinating maintenance, and ensuring compliance with all codes and agency policies. A valid Stationary Engineer Certification is required, with substitution options available through approved

Qualifications

• License: Active Stationary Engineer Certification or equivalent (must be attached).
• Four (4) years of boiler operations experience with preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance.
• Substitutions: apprenticeship or accredited training may substitute for experience; attach transcripts.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety and security of facility, staff and inmates; train and supervise inmate workers.
• Provide supervision for inmate crews; ensure safe, efficient task completion per policy.
• Oversee boiler house and water treatment maintenance; assist HVAC with climate control tasks.
• Complete documentation, coordinate with other trades, and ensure compliance with standards.
