Job summary

The Colorado Department of Corrections seeks a Boiler Operator with Stationary Engineer Certification for the Denver Correctional Complex. Primary duties include ensuring safety and security, overseeing inmate workers, and maintaining boiler house operations and water treatment systems.

This role requires four years of boiler operation experience and a commitment to integrity, safety, and adherence to agency policies. Training and supervision of inmate crews are essential components of the job.

Qualifications

• License: Active Stationary Engineer Certification or equivalent certification (must be attached to application)
• Experience: Four (4) years of experience in boiler operations performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and security of facility, staff and inmates.
• Train and supervise inmate workers in preventive maintenance and operations.
• Operate boiler house and water treatment plant, monitor and maintain equipment.
