Job summary

Ashtabula Regional Medical Center is seeking an Intake Assessment Counselor/Utilization Review Specialist for the Behavioral Medicine Service. You will conduct initial screenings, assessments, and crisis interventions, and handle utilization review and pre-certification to secure services.

The role includes case management and advocating for safe patient dispositions. Must have LSW/LPC/LCDC-III licensure with one year of clinical experience; LISW/LISW-S or LPCC/LPCC-S preferred.

Qualifications

• One year of clinical experience or internship in a clinical setting.
• Licensed Social Worker (LSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC-III) required.
• LISW, LISW-S, LPCC, or LPCC-S preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial screenings and assessments, identify crisis needs.
• Provide crisis intervention and reference evidence-based practices.
• Assist with insurance verification and pre-certification processes.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to plan care and goals.
• Advocate for patients and coordinate disposition planning.
