Job summary

The Intake Assessment Counselor/Utilization Review Specialist at ARMC Healthcare System's Ashtabula Regional Medical Center Behavioral Medicine Unit conducts intake screenings, utilization review, and case management to move patients through behavioral health services. Qualifications

• Licensed social worker or equivalent licensure required.
• One year of clinical experience or internship in a clinical setting.
• Knowledge of behavioral health treatment modalities.
• Ability to obtain and verify insurance pre-certifications.

Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive mental status, psychosocial, risk, and chemical use assessments.
• Provide crisis intervention aligned with current standards.
• Assist with insurance verification and pre-certification processes.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to formulate individualized care plans.
• Advocate for patients and coordinate disposition including inpatient placement if needed.
