Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Licensed Architect to join our professional design team. This position offers the opportunity to lead and contribute to innovative architectural projects, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and play a key role in delivering high-quality design solutions for our clients. The Architect will report to the Executive Vice President of Design.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and assist in the design and development of architectural projects from concept through construction documents.
- Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and presentations using industry-standard software (Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp).
- Coordinate with engineers, consultants, and contractors to ensure design intent and compliance with codes and regulations.
- Participate in client meetings and provide design leadership.
- Conduct site visits and oversee construction administration tasks.
- Support project scheduling, budgeting, and quality control processes.
- Prepare to mentor other staff and contribute to team development.
Qualifications
- Education: Professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch) from an accredited institution.
- Licensure: Active architectural license in the state of Tennessee (or ability to obtain promptly).
- Experience: 5+ years of architectural design experience in a professional setting.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite; strong knowledge of building codes and construction practices.
- Soft Skills: Strong design sense, communication skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Preferred Experience: Experience with commercial, institutional, or mixed-use projects.
- Familiarity with sustainable design principles and LEED accreditation is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: Paid Weekly.
- Bonus program for each design employee: 10% of the mark‑up of employee’s actual billed hours for the previous month (payable on the second payroll cycle of the following month).
- End of Year Holiday Bonus: $250 years 1‑2. $500 years 3‑4. $1000 years 5‑6. $1500 years 7+.
- 401(k) with a company match up to 4% of monetary compensation.
- Company Sponsored Health‑Care Plan. (Company covers 30% of monthly premium. Does not cover any premiums of dependents.)
- Computer and software provided by PWA Properties.
- Professional Liability Insurance provided by PWA Properties.
- Paid Holidays: 8 company paid holidays per year (New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Christmas Eve, Christmas).
- Paid Time Off: 3 weeks immediately. 4 weeks after 2 years. 5 weeks after 4 years.
- Preferred Start Date: January 1, 2026.
