Job summary

Pfeffer Torode, an award-winning architecture and design firm, seeks an experienced residential architectural designer to lead multiple projects and contribute across all design phases. Candidates should show a strong portfolio, leadership capability, and a keen eye for spatial detail in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires 5–7 years of professional experience, a professional architecture degree, and proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp/Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite, and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Professional degree in Architecture, BArch or above.
• 5-7 years of professional experience.
• Architectural License in at least 1 State (preferred but not required).
• Strong conceptual & spatial design abilities (as shown in portfolio).
• Knowledge of construction detailing for wood frame systems.
• Knowledge of applicable local codes.
• Experience and willingness to take on a leadership role.
• Ability to produce detailed and high-level construction documents.
• Effective communication with design team, trade partners, and clients.
• High motivation and resourcefulness.
• Willingness to collaborate in a fast-paced, design-forward environment.
• Proficiency in BIM: Revit; 2-D CAD: AutoCAD; 3-D Modeling: SketchUp or Rhino; Adobe Creative Suite; MS Office.

Pfeffer Torode, an award-winning architecture and design firm, provides distinctive design solutions in response to project-specific aspirations for a wide range of commercial and residential project types. Pfeffer Torode maintains offices in Nashville, Tennessee as well as Birmingham and Montgomery, Alabama. Our work, concentrated in the Southeast, also spans across the country and abroad.

We are seeking experienced, residential architectural designers with strong design and communication skills and a willingness to participate in all aspects of the design process. Successful candidates should possess keen spatial understanding, particular care to details, and a drive to positively contribute to the built environment. Working within a project team the successful candidate would be responsible for taking on a leadership role on several projects. This includes management and production throughout all project phases. A track record of successfully completed residential projects should be evident through portfolio/work samples.

Qualifications

Compensation & Benefits

This is a full-time position; salary will be commensurate with experience and skill level.
