Minnesota Adult and Teen Challenge is seeking a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor to deliver treatment services, assess clients, create individualized plans, and support recovery in a DHS-guided program.

The role involves individual and group counseling, documentation, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality care and compliance. A competitive hiring incentive is available.

Formación

• Current Minnesota Alcohol and Drug Counselor license (LADC) with ongoing continuing education.
• Ability to meet licensure requirements under Minnesota Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy (BBHT) and staff requirements under Minnesota Statutes §245G.11.
• At least 21 years of age.
• At least one year of freedom from problematic substance use.
• Comfort and compassion working with clients facing addiction and mental health conditions.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with close attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with clients, staff, and leadership.

Responsabilidades

• Assess clients within five calendar days of service initiation using ASAM criteria.
• Develop individualized treatment plans outlining goals, methods, referrals, and client goals; update as needed.
• Provide individual counseling and group therapy for co-occurring disorders; lead psychoeducation sessions.
• Maintain accurate, timely case records for all treatment activities and assessments.
• Participate in weekly treatment team meetings and coordinate with referral sources and social service agencies.
• Help evaluate and refine program design to meet licensure requirements and client needs.
• Complete discharge summaries for each client at the end of services.
• Uphold all federal/state statutes, DHS regulations, and ethical standards of the profession.
