Job summary

The Town of Brookline’s Public Library seeks an innovative Technology Support Specialist to lead the library’s information technologies. You will oversee the integration, maintenance and security of automated systems, train staff and patrons, and coordinate with Town IT to meet cybersecurity standards.

You will manage the library network, supervise technical services, participate in budgeting, and act as MLN Technical Coordinator to support installation and maintenance of automated systems.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in computer science, MIS, engineering or related field.
• Five to seven years of experience in network operations, desktop and server support in a Windows Server enterprise environment.
• At least 3 years of technical expertise with Active Directory; or equivalent education/training.
• Experience with library technology infrastructure is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Designs, administers, secures and maintains a computer network of 130–150 PCs.
• Coordinates training of staff and patrons on library technology.
• Acts as liaison to Town IT and adheres to cybersecurity requirements.
• Oversees hardware/software installation, upgrades and procurement.
• Manages budgeting for library technology and capital projects.
