Job summary

City of Hoover's Technology Hub is seeking staff to assist library patrons with computers and software, help sign up for classes, and manage Hot Spot checkouts and fax/scanner use. Responsibilities include PC instruction and maintaining a tidy hub environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Experience using a computer including Microsoft Office.
• Ability to maneuver among high and low shelves.
• Flexible schedule including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist patrons with computers and software in the Technology Hub.
• Assist patrons in signing up for computer classes.
• Help patrons check out Hot Spot materials and use the scanner.
• Provide basic instruction on PC applications.
• Maintain a clean, orderly work environment for staff and patrons; stock Technology Hub supplies; perform other duties as assigned.
