Job summary

Contra Costa Community College District seeks a Library Technician for the C8010-Library department in Martinez, CA. This full-time, 100% in-person role involves assisting at the circulation desk, processing requests, and maintaining materials and records.

Salary steps begin at $51,120 per year (step 1) and rise to $62,268 (step 5). Opportunities for progression follow July 1st annual increases. Requires 2 years library experience and an associate degree; library tech training is preferred.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of library experience in a technical or paraprofessional capacity, preferably in an academic library.
• Possession of an Associate degree from an accredited college, with major emphasis in library technology preferred but not required, or the equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Performs a wide variety of technical and specialized library clerical duties in a college library.
• Assists students and faculty at circulation desk; charges, discharges and files library materials.
• Processes reserve book and inter-library loan requests; locates material and provides information on materials.
• Maintains overdue and debt file; collects and records fines; issues receipts for lost materials.
• Compiles statistical data and generates reports; prepares book orders and library suborders.
• Maintains and troubleshoots library equipment; assists students with machine usage.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
