Job summary

South Texas College is seeking a Library Technician to support the Circulation Desk and work closely with library staff, students, and faculty to assist users in accessing information.

The role requires strong communication skills, proficiency in MS Office and library computer systems, and the ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and deadlines in a college setting.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or 60 earned college hours required or preferred.
• Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook) and general Windows tasks.
• Ability to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Provide and promote excellent customer service at the Circulation Desk.
• Assist library users in locating materials and using information resources.
• Perform circulation and shelving duties; monitor library computers.
• Maintain student records and assist with events and departmental reporting.
