South Texas College seeks a Library Technician to support the Circulation Desk and assist students, faculty and staff in accessing information. You will work closely with library staff to ensure smooth operations and a positive user experience.
The position requires an Associate’s degree and at least 60 college hours, with two years of library experience preferred. Strong communication, computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook are essential, as is flexibility for evenings
Transcripts must be from an institution accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).

The Library Technician supports the Circulation Desk (Help Desk) and works closely with library staff, students, and faculty to assist library users with accessing and using information.

Sitting and standing particularly for sustained periods of time. Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. Occurs to a considerable degree and requires full motion of the lower extremities and back muscles. Close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; and/or extensive reading. Mobility to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
