Job summary

The Waukee Public Library seeks an experienced professional to lead technical services, improve library technology, and support staff and patrons. You will oversee the ILS TLC, collaborate with city tech staff, and guide cataloging, processing, and digital resources initiatives.

The role requires strong communication, leadership, and customer service skills, with responsibility for budgeting and future-building efforts in a dynamic library environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in library science or related field required; master's preferred.
• Two years of public library work experience including maintaining library technology systems.
• Supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Assistant Library Director to implement a strategic vision for technical services.
• Recruit, train, and evaluate staff; oversee day-to-day activities.
• Manage the library's ILS (TLC) and related systems; coordinate updates and improvements.
• Serve as liaison with automation vendors and City technology staff.
• Develop and maintain cataloging, processing, and interlibrary loan procedures.
• Prepare annual budget requests and monitor expenditures; ensure service quality.
