Job summary

The Harris County Public Library (HCPL) La Porte Branch seeks a Library Specialist I for on-site, part-time work. You will assist with circulation, registration, readers' advisory, and program support, while ensuring friendly and inclusive service to patrons.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, strong customer service skills, and familiarity with library systems and MS Office 365. Hours may include evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in library field or related area.
• 1 year of paid or volunteer experience planning, delivering, or supporting programs for community groups.
• 1 year of customer service experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide frontline customer service in person, by phone, and online.
• Register patrons for library cards and manage accounts in the ILS.
• Perform circulation, holds, renewals, and payment processing; maintain records.
• Plan, prepare, and promote literacy and technology programs for all ages.
• Assist patrons with computers, devices, and digital resources.
