Job summary

SUNY Ulster, a two-year SUNY branch located in the Catskills, seeks an Assistant Director of Library Services to lead daily operations and advance library initiatives.

The role reports to the Director and focuses on technology, open educational resources, and teaching initiatives, while guiding staff and coordinating with campus departments to enhance access to resources and services.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Library Science from an A.L.A. accredited program.
• At least two years’ professional experience in an academic library setting with progressive responsibility.
• Demonstrated skills in automated systems, online services, effective communication and supervision.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day to day operations within the Library when the Director of Library Services is not present.
• Establish policies and procedures for daily operation.
• Enforce library policies and procedures.
• Work with academic departments on collection development and instruction sessions.
• Provide support for Distance Learning and open education resources platforms.
